Welcome to the Space Systems Environmental Test Facility Database (SSETFD)
where you will find technical specifications on test facilities such as Vibration, Shock, Acoustic, Thermal Cycle, Thermal Vacuum, Zero Gravity, and other Environmental test capabilities within the United States. Generally speaking, the primary charter of the labs listed in the database is the development and qualification of Space Components and Systems including Space Vehicles, Spacecraft, Launch Vehicles and Ground Systems.

SSETFD was established by The Aerospace Corporation; however, the data for and each lab ”facility/site is maintained by it‘s management”. Currently several different sites are presented in the data, including both government and commercial labs. To inquire on adding a lab to the database click here. The SSETFD allows users to explore several options when searching for the test environment capability best suited to their program’s requirements, using the search function designed into this web site.

The SSETFD database was and is being populated on a voluntary basis to promote the technical interchange between the space hardware developers and the test facility providers in order to increase lab utilization and decrease overall cost.
